1st ITC Technology and Innovation Conference – Oil&Gas Smart Solution Summit

MSTelcom, a leading company in the Telecommunications and Information Technologies market in the Oil & Gas sector, held on November 23, 2022, the 1st Technology and Innovation conference ITC Oil & Gas Smart Solution Summit, under the seal “More and better communications for business”, an initiative that brought together important figures from the oil and gas sectors and information and communication technologies.

The event was honored with the distinguished presence of the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, EngºJosé Barroso, representing the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Engº Diamantino de Azevedo, Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies and Social Communication, EngºMário Oliveira , the PCA of Sonangol EP, Engº Gaspar Martins, members of the Board of Directors of Sonangol and representatives of public institutions, companies in the sector and Strategic Partners, having been welcomed by the PCE of MSTelcom, Engª Felisberta de Jesus.

In the act, the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, Engº José Barroso, stressed that we are currently in the era of technology and innovation, of digital transformation processes the basis for increasing productivity and profitability, without losing sight of alignment with the sustainable agenda of the century. XXI. In the same vein, he highlighted that MSTelcom's initiative to create this forum for ICT solutions for the Oil & Gas sector is an excellent opportunity to create partnerships and develop the sector.

The Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies and Social Communication, Engº Mário Oliveira, began his presentation by introducing MSTelcom's trajectory and highlighted the importance of staff training and proximity to the media so that people know what is to be developed.

Then, PCE Engª Felisberta de Jesus addressed the internal study carried out by MSTelcom, where she mentioned that companies in the Oil & Gas sector are facing technological challenges such as the issue of Telecom and IT infrastructure, the search for Solutions and Platforms to increase team productivity, Cyber Security and Digital Experience.

Likewise, the topics discussed were: Low Latency Connections to Reduce OPEX, the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to expand opportunities and reduce costs, Digital Oil Field, Cyber Security Solutions and Challenges in Oil & Gas, which were presented by MSTelcom partners, namely INTELSAT, MINT, HUAWEI, Check Point.

The debate on the theme “The Challenges of ICTs in daily operations in the Oil & Gas sector” took place in a round table format, attended by representatives of ExxonMobilAngola, UNNEP, SONILS and INTER OIL ANGOLA.

The closing act fell to Sonangol EP CEO, Engº Gaspar Martins, who made brief remarks about the event, emphasizing its importance and encouraging the promotion of ICT's in the Oil & Gas Sector.
