Having successfully established a comprehensive independent network to link Sonangol EP and its subsidiaries and other locations, especially offshore with voice and data services, in 1999 the company realised it could deliver a valuable service to the country as a whole by expanding its operations to the public sector. The use of a satellite-based communications has enabled the growth of an ever-widening network linking key locations throughout Angola.
Though it still does not have its own voice network, MSTelcom has created the technical conditions necessary for providing a public telephone and Internet service.
With its agenda firmly focused on growth, MSTelcom has its priorities set to tackle the principal markets of telephony and Internet access, high-speed Internet and e-mail, telephony and leased lines; which are private networks, VSAT services, broadband and public telephony, Internet kiosks, payphones and pre-paid phone cards.
Our medium and long term strategy is centered around three areas:
- Optimize the services provided to Sonangol Group and to the local oil industry
- Maintain continuous technological evolution by adopting the cutting- edge technologies in the industry
- Enforce the building of a rural satellite-based network for telefony connectivity.
